Is the space station a dead end project?31 Mar 2008 03:00 GMT29
Is the space station a financial obligation that NASA congress desires to
get rid of for future & with hope pointing to projects they may or may not
finance?  I don't see anyone willing to pickup the ball on this.  The space
station modules were designed with the shuttle in mind ...

HTV expected in July 200922 Mar 2008 18:04 GMT7
Always thought HTV was vapourware. But Bill Gerstermier (sp?) during a
press conference said that HTV was scheduled to launch in July 2009.
Not sure if this is an announcement similar to ATV supposed to launch in
the fall of 2003. (or whenever it was originally supposed to launch).
life on the ISS19 Mar 2008 09:37 GMT26
I have a couple of question that I hope you can answer. I was googling

Anyway I'd like to know:
- how do the astronauts clean their clothes? they spend about 3-6
clothing18 Mar 2008 09:20 GMT2
For those asking, I distinctly heard Peggy say that a certain bag contained
her clothes and  the ground told here how to label it, so obviously, valued
clothing items are returned intact, though no doubt soiled!

Succesfull launch of Jules Verne ATV13 Mar 2008 00:23 GMT16
The 181th launch of Arianne 5 spacecraft occured about an hour ago. It
succesfully put into orbit the Jules Verne ATV.
(the 181 number was mentioned by a commentator on the ESA TV live feed).
It was mentioned that the plan was to have an ATV launch every 18 months.

Why Kibo logistics before main lab ?11 Mar 2008 16:20 GMT3
They are now shipping the smaller Kibo logistocs module with a few racks
in it. It will be temporarily berthed to node2. Next flight brings up
the real Kibo module that is also to be attached to Node2, and then the
Kibo logistics will be moved to the real Kibo module.
Good overview of ISS?06 Mar 2008 03:20 GMT4
I've seen great photos and lots of detail on the ISS, but where can I
