I hope my posting of this suggestion is not a rehash of something that
was considered and rejected. It may be a solution to two or more of
NASA's current problems. I will appreciate the group's evaluation and
opinion of it. I am a retired engineer who worked on space problems in

No U.S. Hab Module may be good news27 Jul 2004 00:59 GMT5
With the station partners agreeing to a six-person crew and no details
on how that will be atchieved may actually be good news. The good news
is that maybe the U.S. design will not be completed, but the
technology supporting it will (that's what the partners did agree to).
Iss fuel reserve27 Jul 2004 00:58 GMT15
I've gathered the ISS On-Orbit Status reports for the past couple
of years, and it appears as if the total on-board fuel supply has
been kept between 3500 and 4000 kg, once or twice going under or
over (there also were a couple of reports that seem to be in error).

Spacewalk danger, outside sub-systems; no ISS/shuttle refuge?13 Jul 2004 00:12 GMT17
We're told, that this spacewalk, is to replace a "failed power component".
So, given the risks of spacewalks, why are any sub-system modules placed
outside?  Offhand,  it would seem best to maintain and change replaceable
units, from within.   If you have circuit boards,  ...
