False move by astronaut put space station out of kilter
28 October 2003
A false move by one of three astronauts who returned to earth from the
International Space Station on Tuesday pushed the ISS out of its
MSNBC:  "Space station mission opposed"31 Oct 2003 01:51 GMT31
Once again, it's clear that NASA can't buy a clue:
"However, in what some medical personnel described this week as a chilling
echo of the decision-making leading up to the Columbia space shuttle
disaster, arguments in favor of scrubbing the latest crew replacement
Ringin' The Bell30 Oct 2003 20:18 GMT2
Do they still ring the bell on ISS when visitors or a new crew arrives?
I know Bill Shepherd tried to start this tradition and I saw it, I
believe, carried on with the INC-2 crew, but have follow on crews kept
it up?  Did they do it just for shuttles or was it applicable to ...
Can 2 Shuttles dock to ISS at once?30 Oct 2003 09:25 GMT25
If ISS is being configured as a safe haven for a crippled shuttle, is
it possible for the 2nd shuttle to also dock with ISS? If so, are
there time limitations for the 2 shuttles to be at ISS
simulataneously?
ISS Familirization Manual29 Oct 2003 01:55 GMT1
What is the latest revision of this manual? I've got revision A, dated
7/31/1998. Any newer versions? Thanks,

Ed Lu letter from space #1328 Oct 2003 23:35 GMT2
Relativity
After our 6 months in space, we will have actually aged slightly less than
everyone else on the ground because of an effect called time dilation. It
isn't by much (about 0.007 seconds), but it is one side benefit of flying in
How Many Good EMUs Left?28 Oct 2003 23:35 GMT1
From a recent ISS Status Report:
"The 10/25 removal and replacement of the gas trap in EMU #3013 did not help
to re-establish proper coolant flow through the spacesuit.  Of three
potential items causing the trouble, the gas trap is the only component that
TMA-2 lands safely, according to CBC28 Oct 2003 04:09 GMT1

No times mentioned, but article time was 9:47 PM EST.
Hmm, not mentions at CNN or BBC ...

Re-entry of TMA-228 Oct 2003 03:35 GMT3
When TMA-1 returned to Earth, the onboard computers switched to ballistic
decent mode instead of the normal mode, resulting in higher G loads on the
crew and a touchdown several (hundred?) kilometers short of the planned
area.
Unmanned station loss of control recovery28 Oct 2003 01:42 GMT9
If the station were left unmanned for a long time, say untill shuttles return
to flight and during that time control were lost, say from a pressure leak,
could the atrtached progress keep the station in cointrol that long?
Can two progresses dock at the same time? Normally doesnt ...
FGB-2 status?27 Oct 2003 11:45 GMT7
Are there any news about the actual status of FGB-2 (new UDM)? Is ist ready
for launch in 2006?
Can Russia invite China to ISS?27 Oct 2003 07:37 GMT24
Considering that I've not read the full legal framework for ISS, I'm
wondering if China could invite China for a docking with the SM. The
module is russian ground as I understand it, and with Tito's flight in
mind, I wonder what US could do to stop it. This would of course ruin
ISS On-Orbit Status, 24-10-200326 Oct 2003 19:51 GMT6
ISS On-Orbit Status 24 Oct 2003
All ISS systems continue to function nominally, except as noted previously
or below.  Expedition 7 is in the home stretch, and the count for their stay
in space today is at 181 days.
ISS Problems26 Oct 2003 03:50 GMT1
What needs to be replaced to fix the current problems they are having with
the air contaminants? I really think that if they set their mind(and money)
to it, this is an opportunity to get away from reliance on the shuttle.
They should be able to launch the equipment needed on some ...
