I hope my posting is relevant to this group. I am a space addict for
as long as I can think and I hope I'll manage to view a space shuttle
launch this October. I've already saved the dates and got flights

The old taildraggers were cross-controlled (slipped) in crosswinds.  This
keeps the upwind wing low and the fuselage aligned straight with the runway
on touchdown.  After touchdown the stick is advanced towards the upwind
wing to help keep it down and avoid the dreaded groundloop.
