Question about authority19 Aug 2007 17:03 GMT11
On a commercial airplane, the captain in the aircraft has final word and
authority. He may end up losing his job afterwards, but while on the
aircraft, he can decide the aircraft is not fit to fly, and when in the
air, he can make just about any decision he wants when it comes to ...
Rocket Hull Design19 Aug 2007 05:57 GMT2
I recently watched the move "Astronaut Farmer", in which a farmer
builds his own rocket. After some reflection, I started to wonder how
one would go about building a rocket. The one thing I didn't
understand is how the rocket Hull is designed.

Endeavour's heatsheild damage18 Aug 2007 15:53 GMT16
In the Columbia tragedy NASA did not suspect there was a problem until after the craft was in orbit and the launch video was reviewed and at that time officials at NASA determined there was no problem with landing the shuttle. How do we know that NASA officials won't make the ...

silicon boobs in space17 Aug 2007 23:24 GMT6
Just wondering if there are any rules about this and how they (silicone
boobs) might react to multiple G's and weightlesness. I mean do they have a
max G rating? Also, does Morgan dye her 56 year old hair or is that her
natural color?
Crew not happy?17 Aug 2007 22:37 GMT6
Did I detect some subtle feeling of animosity toward some things mission
control said yesterday, or are they just a bit fed up with all the pr stuff
they are finding themselves doing?
I tend to think that they want to do this repair, and feel that for the sake
Teacher in Space...17 Aug 2007 16:04 GMT10
Ya know, I know there are all kinds of scheduling issues with the
shuttle and whatnot, but isn't kind of dumb sending a teacher into
space when most kids in the US haven't even started classes yet?
I mean, the whole impact of what happened before the launch, the

Good evening all
Have a look at http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/186099main_ksc_081407_srb_cameras-t.gif

My hats off to John Shannon.  I think he is doing a great job of briefing
the issue of the damaged tile.

foam shedding15 Aug 2007 13:00 GMT6
At 01:04 PM 8/10/2005, I sent e-mail to Dr. Richard Gilbrec: (NASA):
Shuttle piggybacking on an external foam insulated tank is
conceptually wrong, since foam always have tendency to peels during
lift-off. How I see, it is because during lift-off tank violently
