| No evidence of alcohol use before flights | 31 Aug 2007 10:59 GMT | 6 |
I see on sci.space.news that this is the conclusion. What worries me about this is that someone obviously said this was the case and now nobody will say it was. This makes one wonder if the folk involved have closed ranks, or there was/is some mischief makers in the jobs out

| Science at Nasa podcast | 30 Aug 2007 13:46 GMT | 4 |
I don't know if anyone listens to this, but I'm subbed to it. However something odd is going on. An item called of skunks and telescopes keeps being flagged up as downloading, never gets any bytes, and so I delete it, and then it comes back again.

| How 'bout that - Shannon was right | 24 Aug 2007 18:54 GMT | 36 |
To all of you Shannon busters and gloom and doomers. Bah!!! A flawless landing. Endeavor completely intact. Seriously - it's good to see her and her crew home safe and sound. Gotta admit, I was breathing shallow for awhile there.

| A Fix for Shuttle ET Aft Strut | 23 Aug 2007 06:28 GMT | 19 |
It doesn't seem to be easy to contact the right people in NASA about suggestions, so I'm posting here in the hope that it'll get some consideration, and perhaps even an acknowledgement from Leroy Kane or John Shannon!

| Pilot: Shuttle Landing Sim | 22 Aug 2007 14:08 GMT | 5 |
I would like to obtain a copy of this software. Can anyone help me? This is the simulation that the CDR and PLT use to practice approach and landing on the IBM laptops while on orbit. Thanks in advance for any help. Thanks very much.

| De-orbit burn | 22 Aug 2007 03:38 GMT | 6 |
On the display on Nasa TV, it looked like the shuttle was going backwards at an angle, not directly backwards, when the de-orbit burn occurred. Was the display wrong or does this somehow enhance the cross range capability?

| Can the damaged tiles tear off? | 21 Aug 2007 00:03 GMT | 36 |
Normal tiles provide for smooth airflow over the aerodynamic surface. It would seem damaged tiles would disrupt the airflow, creating turbulence. Could this turbulence dislodge completely several tiles, or even strip off a whole area like peeling an orange? If this is so, could ...
