Russian Buran had better heat shield scheme?19 Jun 2007 15:18 GMT5
Did the Buran copy our heat shield fabrication process or did it use a more
robust protection system?  If so, might we adapt their style heat tiles,
since they had a perfect flight safety record and could benefit from their
excellence in engineering?
Fire alarm on ISS -- "in FGB"19 Jun 2007 14:54 GMT12
The tone sounded at 5:23 EDT, tone and light for
fire alarm in FGB, working procedure to determine if it's
a false alarm -- which it seems like, since other alarm systems
haven't triggered.
Is there a "heavy lift" replacement for shuttle?18 Jun 2007 13:03 GMT4
Alot of the space station's construction can only be done by using the
shuttle's "heavy lift" capabilities. Once the shuttle is retired, is
there a plan to have some type of unmanned "heavy lift" vehicle which
would allow future stations to be built/maintained?

wasn't there a protruding gap=filler near the landing gear door that
they were going to take care of? Did they already or not? All I hear
them talk about is the thermal blanket on the back that they said was
not really all that serious...
Nasa TV internet feeds17 Jun 2007 08:22 GMT2
They seem to be flakey recently. The Win media is currently not working, the
Real is periodically on left channel overloaded, the media channel wind
media is intermittent and the real media is jumping about in its bit rate
availablity, resulting in that awful echoy tracking  ...

Previous ISS Configuration Plan15 Jun 2007 12:22 GMT1
Wasn't there a thruster module on a previous version of ISS planning prior
to Rev E or F?   It seems like there was and they canned it because of cost
along with the CRV and the Habitation Module.
If so, wouldn't that be coming in handy right now?
Crap pick up on computer wiring in iss15 Jun 2007 12:18 GMT5
Seems to me that the problem is related to a unit on the s3/4 spewing out
crap and its getting into anywhere it can to create errors.
I once had a burglar alarm that was a great forecaster of thunderstorms
within 20 miles....:-)

Radio Communications - What happened to "Roger?"15 Jun 2007 00:42 GMT5
During this launch, NASA  TV channel broadcasted the two-way radio
communications between ground control and the shuttle as it ascended to
orbit.
What is this "Copy That"?  I thought that belongs in action movies.  The
Viewing launch14 Jun 2007 18:43 GMT14
Since the weather looks good and it's on a Friday, I've decided to take a
chance and fly in to see Atlantis launch.  I'll be there until Monday
morning so I've got a few scrub opportunities
Any advice on where do go?  It seems like the park in Titusville is a good
