Nasa tv win media30 Apr 2007 11:02 GMT6

Escape velocity29 Apr 2007 19:33 GMT10
escape velocity question.
does the figure listed for escape velocity for a planet not vary with
the altitude you are at.  If you are on the top of a mountain then
surely with a slower speed you would be able to get into orbit?  Also

The other shooting victim has not been identified.
David Beverly was one of the good guys22 Apr 2007 13:11 GMT4
In answer to someone spewing venal accusations, "No, David Beverly WAS

Getting into orbit15 Apr 2007 22:18 GMT13
getting into orbit.
I heard the there's an advantage for a rocket to take off near the
equator as the earth is spinning faster there.  Why is this, as surely
the earth's rotation does not affect a rocket orbiting above the
ET repairs13 Apr 2007 04:48 GMT16
Does anyone know the nature of the ET repairs NASA is thinking about?  With
the risk of shedding, I don't see filling the holes with more foam is a good
option.  I would think the proper repair would be to take the foam off and
start over.  This would obviosly be a big job.  Even ...
Status of  Atlantis's tank11 Apr 2007 22:29 GMT27
spaceflight.nasa.gov says that ET-117 is being shipped to KSC, and while work is

with the ET-117.
If they do decide to change the ET, how many days does this take ? How difficult
