If the shuttle were to go straight up (80 degrees) at 17500 would it return straight down or be moved by the Coriolis effect? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coriolis_effect

| How will this affect the careers of Astronauts oefelein & shipman? | 14 Feb 2007 07:51 GMT | 19 |
Yeah, Nowak did the stalking but the other two of the love triangle could come out looking like a bunch of teenagers. Will Oefelein fly again? Will Shipman advance in her career?

| Homer Hickham gave an interesting insight... | 13 Feb 2007 09:12 GMT | 4 |
He was on one of the news channels and basically implied that the engineers were probably happy to see one of the astronauts fall of their pedestal. He even posts to usenet, hanging out in rec.sport.footable.college, and occassionally gives insight on NASA/shuttle.

| NASA will not sit an astronaut down | 11 Feb 2007 18:27 GMT | 4 |
Does anyone know of NASA sitting an astronaut down for any problem found during training? I trained one crew that the pilot would often suddenly fall asleep in a briefing. I don't mean nod off, but BAMM -- lights out. The commander set up a rule, the pilot had to pay $5 ...

| Orbital mechanics folks...why does the ISS reboost matter? | 10 Feb 2007 15:08 GMT | 48 |
Can someone explain to me why flight day 3 docking opportunities are available only every other day right now (7th, 9th, ...), but would be available every day if the planned ISS reboost is completed? Is it just because the ISS would be a little bit slower after reboost?

http://news.com.com/NASA+Limited+budget+could+lead+to+gap+in+manned+missions/210 0-1028_3-6156390.html?tag=nefd.top In short, even though NASA is to get 1.3% increase, better than other areas (except military, of course), it won't be enough to get the CEV out in time

| Communications channels bad sound quality | 06 Feb 2007 00:23 GMT | 36 |
Why has NASA provided that the sound quality on Shuttle Communications channels should be kept about as bad as in the Sixties? When I listen to talk from the Shuttle on NASA-tv it sounds like I'm in a time warp. WHY don't they have Skype type quality?
