Commentator announces that the cloud cover is now "red" and too low, and
switches to some prerecorded video instead of letting us listen to the
conversations to the crew which would undoubtedly involve someone
communicating to the crew the news of clouds being too low.

After holding at T-5:00 for an additional 4.5 minutes, the weather at KSC
(cloud cover) was still out of acceptable values and the launch was scrubbed.
Interestingly, they waited until the launc window had been exceeded before
making the announcement.

NASA officials have set the next launch attempt for 8:47 p.m. EST on
Dec. 9.
for the UK it's sunday 1:47 p.m.
for the rest of Europe it's sunday 2:47 p.m

Well aside from the weather not, cooperating, it seems two other
problems have popped up.  CNN (cnn.com) is reporting that there was a
power surge out on the launch pad, and they have cleared the SRB's and
the ET but they are still looking at the Orbiter (not surprising
