When shuttle does its roll shortly after launch, is it an aileron roll or are the main engines gimballed? Do SRB nozzles move too?

| SRB cams - *Four* of'em now?? | 16 Sep 2006 00:51 GMT | 9 |
...Just now caught the SRB cam playbacks on NASA-TV, and there's an angle I haven't seen before. When did they put an aft-pointing cam on the SRB's? There's a pair on the ET, but four on the SRB's? Still, the splashdowns looked cool.

| Cool SRB videos | 15 Sep 2006 23:19 GMT | 4 |
They just played 3 videos for each SRB, best I've seen yet. Things to look for: SRB Thrust Mismatch at SRB Separation, one of the SRB still has quite a bit of thrust after SRB sep. You can tell this because one SRB is higher

| 2 spacewalks at the same time? | 15 Sep 2006 21:13 GMT | 3 |
Anybody know if they have ever considered having 4 spacewalkers outside on station assembly missions? I'd think the 2 airlocks could support this without problems (for that matter what stops them from cycling Quest multiple times?). They managed 3 on STS-49 but I'm

| Question re SSME on WB-57 ascent video | 14 Sep 2006 23:31 GMT | 3 |
OK guys, especially Mr. Oberg, Spencer, or any of you other types with good connections at JSC, I have a question about what I just witnessed on the replay of Atlantis launch taken from the WB-57 aircraft. Approximately 20 seconds after SRB sep, there a 3-4 frames of video in

What web site would one go to get some high resolution imagery from the robotic camera that is used to take a look at the shuttle tiles? I know that such images have been available in the past.

I had a discussion with my wife last night about the size of the P3/P4 solar panels. :-) I tried to explain that the solar panels will be 240 feet (72 meter ?) long "unfurled".

| solid tanks questions | 12 Sep 2006 09:07 GMT | 26 |
I'm new to this but i read somewhere that the solid fuel tanks are refilled in Utah. My question is, why? Seems like a long way to transport something so big when they could do it in Florida. Is it because of the humidity in Florida? Would the solid fuel stick together, or something ...

| Dead spider blamed for sensor fault! | 11 Sep 2006 23:31 GMT | 6 |
Sorry could not resist being silly. It was reported today that it is most likely that an insect has caused a fail to wet condition in the Hydrogen tank.
