| Estimating maximum size of "the UFO" (UOO?) | 20 Sep 2006 04:24 GMT | 4 |
It seems that the distance from the Shuttle to the atmospheric interface is estimable. Given that the "UFO" (or UOO - Unidentified Orbital Object) is not low enough to be interacting with this interface, i.e. it is not slowing, cannot a maximum range to it be estimated, and ...

Use the boom Use the Soyuz go to station and ask for another pitch manoeuvre. I'd do the latter. Brian

| They must take a look under Atlantis | 20 Sep 2006 03:38 GMT | 2 |
I don't see how they can justify not taking a look under Atlants to make sure there is no damage. I will be very surprised and disappointed if they don't. Can you imagine if they don't look, and something happens? This is the kind of situation these precautions were drawn up

| Shuttle landing opportunities? | 19 Sep 2006 16:44 GMT | 2 |
If the weather is too bad for Kennedy on the first chance, does anyone know the subsequent opportunities and when they might switch to Edwards?

| a silly question? | 19 Sep 2006 16:27 GMT | 7 |
You know, its not until someone asks a question that you realise you don't know the answer to it... Ok obvious statement of the year? So, what was the question, if they spend over a week on the Shuttle, what happens to all the dirty washing?

| Slightly OT but read on.. | 18 Sep 2006 23:48 GMT | 3 |
I had this strange feeling that, as they say, the boot might have been on the other foot this morning, with the station declaring a spacecraft emergency with an Electron fault. Luckily, things seem to be not as bad as first thought, but with a shuttle so close, would they have ...

| listening to com. | 18 Sep 2006 08:02 GMT | 2 |
Several things, what is this hard wired comms problem they have with the big loop all about? Are they saying that Atlantis has a wiring defect which Discovery does not have? Also, what is this problem with the still image video system that seems to

Has any video been released of the crew while ascending to orbit? Thanks. DB

| water behaviour | 18 Sep 2006 01:22 GMT | 5 |
What happens to the water in a one litre bottle if it is "tipped out" by an EVA space shuttle crew member? Does it sit in a glob or dissipate? If it dissipates will it do so slowly or rapidly?

| HD video from ISS? | 17 Sep 2006 19:09 GMT | 4 |
Anyone at JSC (Jim Oberg?) know if the video of Atlantis taken from the ISS after undocking was streamed down in HD this morning? It sounded like there was a lot of excitement around that time. There was supposed to be a new HD network card delivered on this mission and I was ...

| Will NASA cease retrieving SRBs? | 17 Sep 2006 13:28 GMT | 26 |
It just occurred to me this morning while watching NASA TV's pre-launch coverage during some talk about the SRB recovery ships that at some point in the next dozen launches or so (perhaps substantially less), there will be no real logistical need to retrieve the SRBs. Enough
