| Another "what if" question... | 27 Aug 2006 11:52 GMT | 9 |
I certainly don't wish harm on any of the astronauts, don't get me wrong. But this question popped into my head somehow and it won't go away before it is answered... ;) What if both the pilot and commander of a Space Shuttle crew are somehow

| Water into ice statement | 26 Aug 2006 05:53 GMT | 1 |
OK, I used to teach the astronauts how to fly the space shuttle. I have been in a discussion on turning water into ice on a different thread. I just reread them and realize I need to step back and explain a bit. My apologies for any that didn't follow at first.

| Re: Former astronaut, senator Glenn hurt in car crash | 26 Aug 2006 02:42 GMT | 20 |
Statistics aside (and wasn't the whole car vs. space thing covered here a few years ago?), the sad part of this story is that John Glenn is 85 years old, and this may signal the end of his ability to drive a car. If not yet, soon. Must be hard for a guy who was a fighter pilot and ...

| Question On Sound of Shuttle Launch | 25 Aug 2006 20:25 GMT | 48 |
All, I'm considering visiting Kennedy to witness a shuttle launch--something I've always wanted to do. My question is I am blind and I'm wondering if the sound and feel of the launch is impressive enough to make a trip

| What Is "Group B" Computer | 25 Aug 2006 02:44 GMT | 1 |
Looking at the flight plan and notice they seem to do a lot of "Group B Computer" power-up and power-downs. In looking at other activities, I'd make a guess they're related to manuvering. Anybody know what this is?

| Discovery's age | 24 Aug 2006 16:04 GMT | 2 |
Discovery recently passed out Columbia as the orbiter to have been in service the longest...it will be 22 years on August 30. Columbia was closing in on 22 years but missed it by a little over two months. There may be one or two people like me interested in these kinds of

| Russia corrects ISS orbit to host spacecraft | 24 Aug 2006 11:40 GMT | 3 |
This is a 'magic reboost' that, if done correctly (as it looks it was) gives Flight-Day-3 rendezvous windows for EVERY day in the shuttle launch window, by adjusting the phase angle (lead angle) at liftoff,

| Shuttle power when docked | 23 Aug 2006 04:59 GMT | 1 |
I am curious. How much power does the shuttle draw from the station in amps when docked or is all power generation independent on the shuttle when docked? Is the power all DC or AC or a mix?

| NASA TV on DIRECTV - images "stretched" | 23 Aug 2006 00:54 GMT | 1 |
Would anybody who has DIRECTV check to see if the aspect ratio on the images are offset on NASA TV? I noticed this about a week ago. It is not my TV or reciever. I checked with another TV and reciever, and I am getting the same thing.
