FAQ?  Why not use mesh embedded in the foam on the ET?05 Jul 2006 05:18 GMT1
There must be a good reason why using mesh of some sort (plastic?
teflon? fish net? metal probably too heavy) won't work to keep the foam
from falling off the ET during launch. Yes?

To find out if repeated refilling causes cracking and loss of

They were afraid of a tank test for the fuel depletion sensors, but now

Space Shuttle will NOT leave THE ATMOSPHERE04 Jul 2006 21:20 GMT7
On the site http://www.ksctickets.com/ltt.html you can see that they

still be VISIBLE... and one can measure with 'triangulation' that the
Foam sep at about T plus 2:47 from ET cam.04 Jul 2006 20:33 GMT5
I recorded the launch.  About T plus 2:47 I saw up to 3 different
chunks, of what looked to be foam, separate from the ET moving up and
over the wing.  If anybody recorded the launch, look back and check to
see if you agree.
What was all the debris flying around?04 Jul 2006 20:19 GMT5
On some of the video of the shuttle before launch, there appeared to be
alot of debris flying around. Any idea what that was? I thought maybe
birds but it looked like alot of white specks being blown around by the
wind.
Have A Safe Flight, Discovery04 Jul 2006 20:03 GMT5
If you launch today, tomorrow, or whenever you launch, may everything
go well, and may you return to earth safely once your mission is done.
