Does anyone have a link to the video of launch from that new SRB camera? I just saw it on the Launch Day 1 hightlights, and that is a sweet view!

| landing weather | 18 Jul 2006 17:34 GMT | 5 |
Today the weather appeared to be clearing up and trending towards favorable conditions, so they gave the go-ahead to come back. However 15 min. before landing they decide to switch the direction they're landing, because showers popped up on the approach end of runway 33.

| Landing Track | 18 Jul 2006 11:11 GMT | 6 |
CNN reports that due to the weather, Discovery landed on a different runway. As far as I know, there is only one runway at KSC that can handle the shuttle. So, was CNN wrong, or where they somehow confused? Or was this

| Beautiful launch - hate reporters though... | 18 Jul 2006 05:44 GMT | 22 |
I ended up having to watch the launch on from NASA's TV feed over the internet because I couldn't take listening to that idiot CNN reporter. He just wouldn't shut up and allow viewers to hear everything just from NASA PA and the flight coms. The a.shole was yapping his lips ...

| New 'terms' :-) | 18 Jul 2006 04:36 GMT | 7 |
To bring a bit more humour into this group for a moment. I noticed one on orbit comedian refer to ratty comms as Rodent comms, and more than once, someone referred to Lisa and Steph as Robochicks. Not sure quite how that was meant.

| Hubble Telescope Mission | 18 Jul 2006 01:56 GMT | 4 |
Now that the Discovery astronauts have proven that the tiles can be repaired using the repair techniques that they have tested and that new robotic arm, does this mean that NASA will be able to fly to the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) for a servicing mission? I thought ...

| The water dump anomaly? | 18 Jul 2006 01:06 GMT | 4 |
So, this problem they are having today with the nozzle temperature suddenly dropping and then they have to heat it to 300 degrees to keep it going. I seem to recall one of the problems some time back was an icicle here that came off and did some damage. I'd be very tempted, I ...

| MPLM Manifest? | 17 Jul 2006 10:10 GMT | 5 |
Has NASA listed a manifest of what is coming down in the MPLM? I remember reading one for STS-114 but I haven't seen one for STS-121 yet.

| When does the Pilot and Commander get to do their Walk Around? | 17 Jul 2006 04:38 GMT | 6 |
Well, float around. The Pilot and Commander are going to do their walk around? You know kick the tires, look for dents in the aerosurfaces, pull off any debris, ... Most good pilots do a walk around don't they?

| Is landing a day early possible ? | 17 Jul 2006 04:09 GMT | 5 |
Say weather forecasters were predicting rain on monday and a category 5 hurricane on tuesday. (reducing the chances of landing on wednesday to almost nil). Could NASA land a day early if they pushed through all the procedures at

| Why were these astronauts grounded by NASA in 1990? | 17 Jul 2006 01:16 GMT | 1 |
I found reference to a New York Times article, dated 7/10/1990. "Two shuttle veterans are grounded by NASA" The entire article was unavailable. Apparently Robert L. Gibson and David M. Walker were grounded by NASA for safety rules violations.
