NASA is aiming to launch eight shuttle missions in 15 months between

From what I understand, immediately after lift-off, the team at KSC
hands off control to Houston. Is this correct? Was there a political
reason for this? I don't know anything rocket science, but since the
KSC team is responsible for operations before lift-off, handing off

best/worst landings21 Feb 2006 02:21 GMT1
I know it doens't matter one iota, a good landing is one that is on the
runway and the crew is home safe - I know.
I'm just wondering if there have been any particularly good or bad
shuttle landings.  I'm sure the commanders, being military fighter
The Challenger Conspiracy -- Twenty Years of Betrayal19 Feb 2006 00:02 GMT7
Almost unbelievably here in America, the land of the "free," we still
have an administration, a Congress, a Supreme Court, and a
government-industrial aerospace monopoly which perpetuate the
degenerate corruption, the gross injustice, and the obscene cover-up

spacehab sues NASA12 Feb 2006 01:45 GMT7
So they sue NASA, build a new module with the money... do they think
NASA will ever fly it after that? Somehow I think it will become
something that "does not fit NASA's current plans" ever again.
They're stuck between a rock and a hard place: they're out $80m for a

Suitsat06 Feb 2006 21:59 GMT10
Mightily disappointed not to be able to receive signals from the now
frozen, inoperative Suitsat.  Perhaps if they had painted the suit black to
absorb heat from the sun instead of the reflective white that is designed to
keep a hot, working astronaut cool the batteries may have ...
Throttle Up06 Feb 2006 14:27 GMT14
Twenty years ago this morning I was a young engineer at the
Kennedy Space Center in Florida.  I drove to work early to see
the STS-51L crew (I was a Judith Resnik fan, and always will
be) exit their crew quarters, which I could see from my office
