shuttle launch map?31 Jan 2006 18:47 GMT2
Is there a map somewhere online that shows the trajectory of the shuttle
launches and where SRB separation occurs on a map?
I'll be on a Carribean cruise and hopefully it will coincide with STS-121.
Figuring out which way to look for the wont be hard if it's clear but I'd
Go ____ throttle up30 Jan 2006 23:55 GMT13
I know this has been discussed ad nauseum here and I know that "AT" is
the right work between GO and Throttle.
Listening to the challenger reports yesterday, it seemed I heard the following:
ground: Go WITH throttle up
HAARP, Challenger, and the LA Levies: The fools never learn.30 Jan 2006 03:52 GMT1
Upon examining the trajectories for the HAARP microwave beam that shot down
Space Shuttle Challenger it has slowly dawned upon me yet with great
sickness and frustration...it's become clear that the reflection of the beam
shot by HAARP destroyed the Challenger shuttle and also ...

NASA'S DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
Today we pause to remember the loss of our Apollo 1, Challenger and Columbia
astronauts and to honor their legacy. ...

Things are slow around here so have a look here:

Today is the celebration of the 'tragedy' of skytrain1 - SS Challenger.  We have come across even more pictures to add to our portfolio.29 Jan 2006 13:02 GMT3
Oh  yes, oh yes, oh yes.
As we told you earlier in another thread, we have many pictures
adorning our walls of the tragedy that was perpetrated by the always
paranoid, evil and even-then insane Ronald Reagan.  Those 7 astronauts
Long missions question29 Jan 2006 02:35 GMT5
Something I have always wondered about long missions such as New Horizons.
I am sure the scientists involved work extremely hard to get the missions
under way. How do they motivate themselves when they must know there is a
real possibility they might not be around (eg moved to ...
ET Production Terminated28 Jan 2006 02:17 GMT2
According to the following memo, Lockheed will build only
16 more external tanks to add to two that have already been
completed and not flown.

What is needed to watch NASA TV?27 Jan 2006 18:19 GMT12
I'm not too sure that I arrived at the right group for the subject, so
please direct me if I'm in the wrong place.
Basically, what I'm trying to accomplish is to get the minimal set of
equipment required to watch NASA TV. Having digital cable service from
STS-116 CDR27 Jan 2006 02:59 GMT11
Any particular reason why Terry Wilcutt is no longer listed as
Commander of STS-116? Did he take himself off (because of long
delays??) or was it an "administrative decision" ???
Also...noticed some new astronaut candidates from 2004:
Challenger disaster and outlawing asbestos -- the myth27 Jan 2006 02:09 GMT10
In doing my research I found a thoughtful treatment
of the question of whether outlawing asbestos
caused the Challenger disaster.

Harwood's '51-L' page at CBS27 Jan 2006 01:24 GMT1
When I went to look for this treasure trove again,
I couldn't find a link from the front page of
the 'Space Reporter's Notebook', so I googled
to get the direct URL. I highly recommend it.
Just watched CNN Presents: Christa McAuliffe Reach For The Stars26 Jan 2006 00:49 GMT11
I have to say that I enjoyed it.  It was mainly about her life, with little
attention given to the "cause" of the accident, and surprisingly hardly any
political posturing.  All in all, I thought it was a pretty good tribute to
her.  It also certaintly brought back memories of that ...
Aren't we coming up to the 20th anniversary of the space shuttle Challenger 'tragedy'?24 Jan 2006 23:52 GMT66
We all have Ronald Reagan to blame for sending up that space
shuttle...all in the name of staying one foot ahead of the Ruskies in
the 'space race'.  Those 7 astronauts didn't die in a tragedy...they
were sacrificed to the gods.
Marc Garneau now unemployed :-(24 Jan 2006 22:10 GMT1
Marc Garneau, Canada's first astronaut, and who was the head of the
canadian space agency quit his job in order to run as a candidate in the
canadian election. Unfortunatly, he was defeated tonight, and in an
interview admitted he was now "unemployed".
