Just out of interest, what could have caused that blanket to move? They seem
not to be that worried about the heat problem but more worried that if it
flaps some of itself loose, that it might cause some damage to window or

In all the coverage I've read about the issues surrounding the external
tank shedding foam,  there's one question I've never heard addressed:
Why is the external surface of the tank made up of foam anyways?  I
understand the need for the foam to reduce boiloff of the cryogenic

Why do they shuttle recently returned shuttlenauts,moonnauts to companies
such as Boeing when they return to Houston? Instant retirement to the

Would it be feasable to use aerodynamics to protect the shuttle from
foam and other debris ? If they added some fairings at strategic
locations, could it not direct airflow such that any debris would be
directed away from the tiles and RCC ?

OK here is the scenario. Shuttle takes off and on the way up 3 leading
edge wing tiles get hit. They take the shuttle to the ISS. Run the
imaging system over it, perform a spacewalk and decided which three
tiles are really damaged. They send this info back to the ground.

medical advances among other more common household products that we take

Is there a place that has the complete video from the camera that was
mounted on the shuttles external fuel tank. I was curious if they got
video from the camera until the tank burned up in the atmosphere.
