Viewing Shuttle on first orbit after launch from Europe13 Jul 2005 14:44 GMT2
Dear newsgroup,
I would like to view the shuttle (STS-114) after launch tomorrow.
I'm living in southwestern Germany. I think, I should have a chance to see
it just some 15 to 25 minutes after launch occurs during the first orbit. I
Good luck tomorrow to all involved.13 Jul 2005 14:25 GMT2

When is the next ISS assembly mission?13 Jul 2005 09:32 GMT4
This launch will take appx 12 tons of equipment for the ISS, but when will
further components of the station be launched?
But they're gonna launch anyway.13 Jul 2005 07:03 GMT39
Both Challenger and Columbia were brought down by problems that were known
and either dismissed and/or hushed up.
Many of you sound like rabid Nixon supporters, denying to the last breath
that there was a problem no matter what evidence is presented.  You lambast
Day 88813 Jul 2005 06:35 GMT11
Friday marks the 888th day since Columbia's infamous demise on STS-107.
Here's hoping Discovery's flight on STS-114 goes well starting
(hopefully) a week from today.  I'll be glued to the coverage, both
broadcast and streaming over the net as a lot of people will be.
DOH DOH DOH!  How to fix it for real!13 Jul 2005 05:24 GMT2
Unnnh, what's the second most insulating material NASA has its hands on?
That would be:  CERAMIC TILES!  Why not glue them (they're cheap as sh.t
now) on the external tank on the Shuttle-Mounted side and coat them with
Teflon (to shed any ice during the initial shaking of takeoff. ...
The "liberal" media and the Shuttle13 Jul 2005 04:30 GMT1
I was 5 when I saw my first space launch. It was not an everyday event. It
was televised and it was the greatest thing. I passed up the Rat Patrol and
Combat to watch the launch. It was every boys dream at that time. Then
tragedy. Grissom, White and Chaffee...gone. Grissom was to ...
Dangerous Mentality12 Jul 2005 15:58 GMT1
I think NASA has come a long way during the last two and a half years.  From
the public's perspective, nothing can be a more obvious demonstrator of that
than the upcoming lunch.  But the one thing I don't like is how NASA
officials keep self-assuring themselves that they have ...
Two unrelated queastions12 Jul 2005 10:30 GMT16
Firstly, I read the  item of news about the Columbia' exhaust plume making
clouds at high altitudes in Antarctic, and noted that they seemed to be
saying that material ablated from the Shuttle engines was being detected.
As a reusable engine, i always thought that ablation was not ...
