Is this true  or not?16 Jun 2005 23:30 GMT18
With what we have spent on the War in Iraq, we could have a fleet of 20 new
design shuttles.
The war's true cost is is about half a trillion.

Challenger Mission 51-L -- AF General's Cover-Up Role Exposed16 Jun 2005 01:41 GMT6
Air Force General Donald J. Kutyna led the Accident Analysis Panel of
the Presidential Commission which investigated the Challenger disaster.
In this thread, I will present optical evidence revealing that General
Kutyna *misled* the American public as to that disaster's true cause.
Astronaut System15 Jun 2005 04:44 GMT4
Is there a stated reason why there are so many astronauts? Most only
ever do 2 or 3 missions, and John Young was virtually the only long term
career astronaut. Why is the system of more newbie astronauts, instead
of regularly flying experienced astronauts preferred? Thanks,
Look to Hollywood for the Solutions14 Jun 2005 22:24 GMT6
The acceleration problem was solved in a Flash Gordon episode.  Dr. Zarkov
theorized if the people immersed themselves in a barrel of water, they
could withstand unlimited acceleration and deceleration during flight.  It
worked.  This should be further investigated by NASA, ...
I think we should equip Shuttles with hyperdrives .......14 Jun 2005 22:24 GMT3
Yes, that way we could fly to Mars in a few minutes and build a base
over there.
We just have to ask the aliens, who are here since Roswell, if they
can sell us hyperdrive technology...

Where are the Shuttle launch/entry suits stowed during a mission?13 Jun 2005 07:05 GMT2
I have been unable to find the answer to this question: Where are the
Shuttle LES/ACES Suits (or "pumpkin suits") stored in the cabin after
launch. In all of the pictures I've seen of Astronauts in the Space
Shuttle, I've never seen then stowing or unpacking the launch suits.
Expect the unexpected12 Jun 2005 21:42 GMT5
Both shuttle tragedies were beyond a reasonable doubt conclusive
explanations by photographic evidence. (accident itself and data supporting
the hypothesis of a breach)

Big Trouble at Los Alamos Labs10 Jun 2005 23:28 GMT2
CBS News carried the story tonight of how in the course of his job at
Los Alamos (as an auditor, I think) this poor fellow uncovered millions
in government waste. When he was told by his superiors to stop, he
reported it. CBS also showed before and after pictures of him. Why

Wildlife on runway10 Jun 2005 13:43 GMT9
What if a form of wildlife wandered onto the shuttle landing facility
as an orbiter was making an approach? Does NASA have precautions for
something like that? I would guess there may be a fence around the area
or something to rule out the possibility of that ever happening,
Buran Website Finds So Far09 Jun 2005 09:31 GMT74
These are things of interest I've found so far on the Russian language

There'll be more of this, but their site is down at the moment, so I'll
need to wait till it gets back up to find other things
