Only Nixon's Approval Rating Was Lower30 Jun 2005 17:42 GMT103
According to the McNeil-Lehrer Report last night, Bush's approval
rating of 42% (at this point into a second term) is the lowest of any
President except Nixon. Nixon's rating was 40%, but he was in the
middle of the Watergate scandal.
spray the external tank with teflon29 Jun 2005 02:39 GMT1
How easy a solution is that?  How much have they spent so far?  500
million to solve this moronic design flaw?  I guess they don't want to
solve it (we need more "heroes" so "W" believers on FOX can have more
talking points)

3 safety goals for shuttle missed
The finding that NASA falls short of key recommendations likely will not
postpone next month's scheduled launch of Discovery.

STS 107 helmet28 Jun 2005 11:13 GMT2
Sorry for this slightly macabre question. Just after the STS-107
"crash", one of the haunting images of the debris was of one of the
flight crew's helmets, lying on the ground with the visor up. To which
crew member did the helmet belong?
Where could I get Shuttle PPOV landing footage?27 Jun 2005 08:14 GMT6
Wondering where I might try looking to find any footage of any mission's
PPOV camera from at least prior to HAC intercept through rollout?
I'm just really curious what the sight picture looks like, from a
pilot's perspective, for the whole intercept, down to short final.
Shambles Nasa phone briefing26 Jun 2005 17:37 GMT7
Hi, I do hope Nasa are better at actually launching the Shuttle, than they
were yesterday at briefing the press via a phone or internet audio link.
For a start it was wildly delayed, then they told people to go away and come
back at a certain time, when they did, the briefing was ...

The End of This Story26 Jun 2005 07:27 GMT11
I've mentioned my collies, Neil and Buzz, often enough here that some
of you are familiar with them.
It's with a heavy heart that I write to tell my friends here about the
end of Buzz's story.  This morning he went to the vet to end his
On time?24 Jun 2005 21:43 GMT1
SO what are the current plans for the launch? I know the wbsite has a
window but when does everyone expect it to launch. More importantly
does it look like there will be multiple delays?
I need some help with a research project24 Jun 2005 14:17 GMT5
I am trying to get some feedback from people in the aerospace industry
or engineering in general, to help get readmitted to the University of
Texas at Austin Aerospace Engineering Ph.D program.  All you need to do
to help me is to answer the following short questionare and send your

I'm surprised I haven't seen any chatter about this from the sci.space
