I've been asked how much the fuel for a single space shuttle launch is. I.e. the pure, directly costs for oxygen, hydrogen and solidfuel for one launch. Does anybody have an idea?

The English beat us out with the Comet I, the worlds first jetliner, first flown in 1949. Boeing was a Johnny-come-lately with the 707 in 1958. But, we were late for good cause as history proves. 707s are still in service; early Comets blew up in midair.
