I admit I haven't checked how much traffic there is on alt.politics, but I'm guessing it has to be MUCH less than the off-topic political discussions on the sci.space.* groups. May as well mess with everyone's minds and ignore the entire naming scheme of Usenet. *sigh*

A couple of years ago there was a very productive discussion here about allegations from Dr. Oren Swearingen that some video from STS-112 showed a UFO. It was determined through homework that it was the elbow of the SSRMS.

Let history show that it was Reagan who said that the show must go on, that the challenger (aka Skytrain #1) had to go up come hell or high water so the Ruskies would not leapfrog the Amerikkkans in the space competition.

I am interested in the programmatic information about the EELV program and the MDA boosters. What were the original budget and schedule predictions and how did they and are they turning out? Were there any significant technical specification changes?

What would have been Mike Melvill's options if he would really have lost all control of SS1? I can't find any mention of ejection seats or similar systems in the descriptions of SS1, neither was it clear whether he was wearing a full
