... what would it take to turn ISS into an interplanetary craft? Engines, fuel, supplies, more fuel, more supplies, etc? It is designed for long periods of habitability at a time, seems like that's a big part of endurance space

Has anybody else here used it? I have and I have to say that it's almost cool in a seventh-grade science class-kinda way. I'm even considering incorporating the 3-D image of the Opportunity crater in an AVP map I'm trying to build.

Lets imagine for a moment our shuttle making it to orbit but because of some trouble not being able to make ISS or deorbit. Now the shuttle will cross ISS path in 3 days but be unable to revendous or dock:(

Just was reading on the space dot com website that it will be a three year mission when and if we send men to Mars. But when I was watching the animation of the Spirit and Opportunity missions it said it took 7 months for the rover to get to Mars.
