life outside the earth26 Jul 2005 15:52 GMT9
I had no idea that the concept of life outside the earth was in any way
offensive.  To me it appears as the next great leap for mankind.
The hope that alien life would be found early on Mars seemed to be dashed by
the failure of probes to Mars to find proof that none could dispute ...
Life outside the Earth24 Jul 2005 22:12 GMT165
The penalty for finding proof of life outside the Earth is death.
I heard that from a priest of the Christian Church.  An editct.

Forget it and go tend your roses.
Drake increases estimate to 50K communicating E.T. civilizations23 Jul 2005 04:59 GMT19
On the space.com website there is a Drake equation streaming video link
with Frank Drake and Seth Shostak talking about the equation.  I
believe that Dr. Drake estimated many years ago around 10,000
transmitting ET civilizations in our galaxy.  In the video he has

Since 90% of posts here are DC'ers complaining about how f...k'd up
SETI/Boinc is, I am happy to say that SETI is now taking work units back and
sending out new ones. Thanks to the team at Berkely for their efforts. And
thanks for the Boinc system for allowing me to be productive ...

no work downloaded (computer overcommitted)22 Jul 2005 11:37 GMT2
suddenly I don't get any new work downloaded by BOINC because BOINC
claims the computer being overcommitted. I don't see any
overcommitment. In fact there has never been less work than now. I

BOINC-SETI work unit uploading21 Jul 2005 14:59 GMT6
As a new starter to BOINC-SETI (16th July), coming over from Classic, I
see the number of work units downloaded and available seems fine (if
