However, I want to alter my user profile. I enter my email address (I
CLI and Outlook 200328 Sep 2004 04:48 GMT2
Anyone experience a slowdown of Outlook 2003 while running the S@H
CLI?  Ive found it slows to an unusable state while S@H is running,
and shutting it down immediately alleviates the problem.
All of this of course on win32 systems, specifically WinXP Pro SP2.
SETI receives signal possibly from an intelligent extraterrestrial civilization27 Sep 2004 17:52 GMT22
AN UNEXPLAINED radio signal is the best candidate yet for "first
contact" by an intelligent alien civilisation, scientists have
suggested.
The enigmatic signal has been picked up three times since last year by

After several months of good intentions, I finally got round to

Wot? No seti-boinc whining & whinging??!25 Sep 2004 14:14 GMT9
By heck, all seems very quiet at the moment...
Does this mean that everyone is happy with full Boinc caches, various
oddball machines humming along contentedly, network lights blinking
furiously...?
Life is a Gas: Methane Might Support Underground ET25 Sep 2004 00:32 GMT1
http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/methane_production_040923.html
A new test that produced methane under conditions mimicking the deep
interiors of Earth and Mars lends support to an idea that the gas could

BOINC v. Seti-at-Home24 Sep 2004 05:25 GMT2
First of all an apology if this question has been posted before. Just
point me to the right part of the FAQ.
I'm a long-time seti-at-home user now on my 129th work package.
Recently, I was told, perhaps mis-informed, that Seti-at-home is being
How are we defining Inteligence?24 Sep 2004 04:44 GMT44
What's SETI looking for? Life forms able to communicate with us? Life
intelligent enough to communicate with other similar life forms? Life that
can communicate with my dog?
How are the various SETI projects defining what they are searching for?

about expanding the search area, but I haven't seen any news on ...
