| help required with setigate | 30 Jan 2004 07:39 GMT | 4 |
I am wanting to use setigate on a single pc with a dial up connection. I have set up as far as I can, using the readme file. I have cached WU's and am ready for processing. Problem is I cannot get the WU into seti. "Appendix A" of setup instructions states that seti's socks proxy ...

I have added two Celeron processors, 2.4 and 2.5 GHz to my home network. The first crunches SETI units in 4 hours, the second takes 16. Both are running XP. I know there are a number of ways to improve SETI unit crunching by 10% or so, but I need something dramatic.

| Setigate processes cache units until 99,2% | 28 Jan 2004 22:22 GMT | 4 |
Is it normal that Setigate doesn't process cached units one after another. All units are now processed until they reach 99,2% and then Setigate starts to process the next cached unit. Why doesn't it process a unit until it's 100% done before it starts with the next unit?

Just received a Dell Inspiron 7000, 333Mhz, 64 MB RAM, WinXP Pro. Installed SETI, SETI Spy & SETI Driver. Noticed after running SETI for a few minutes, processor fan came on. I realize that this is probably normal, as SETI is processor intensive, but could I damage this laptop ...
