help required with setigate30 Jan 2004 07:39 GMT4
I am wanting to use setigate on a single pc with a dial up connection.
I have set up as far as I can, using the readme file. I have cached WU's and
am ready for processing. Problem is I cannot get the WU into seti.
"Appendix A" of setup instructions states that seti's socks proxy ...

I have added two Celeron processors, 2.4 and 2.5 GHz to my home
network.  The first crunches SETI units in 4 hours, the second takes 16.
Both are running XP.  I know there are a number of ways to improve
SETI unit crunching by 10% or so, but I need something dramatic.

Setigate processes cache units until 99,2%28 Jan 2004 22:22 GMT4
Is it normal that Setigate doesn't process cached units one after another.
All units are now processed until they reach 99,2% and then Setigate starts
to process the next cached unit. Why doesn't it process a unit until it's
100% done before it starts with the next unit?
what can home user do with clusters ?!?28 Jan 2004 05:36 GMT20
I'm thinking about seting up a few computers I have laying around into a

How many of you folks are running the BOINC beta test?27 Jan 2004 02:22 GMT10
I've been on it for awhile, very strange points system. Lots of glitches.
Seems like they are still very far from a finished product.

Can anyone provide a copy of the V3.08 Windows commandline client??
I've been trying to DL from Berkeley for 5 days, but it always times out,
and I've not gotten any response from 'the team'.

seti@home on laptop26 Jan 2004 17:49 GMT13
Just received a Dell Inspiron 7000, 333Mhz, 64 MB RAM, WinXP Pro.  Installed
SETI, SETI Spy & SETI Driver.  Noticed after running SETI for a few minutes,
processor fan came on.  I realize that this is probably normal, as SETI is
processor intensive, but could I damage this laptop ...

I have setispy and setidriver working together, worked like a charm on
win98se, but I recently installed WinXP and windoze closes setispy after a
while, it happens to other programs too(flashget and some other) when I
leave the PC on during the night; setidriver and crunching works ...
