Back from Africa, where I was a secular missionary in the Kayon Ghozi's leprosary (Burundi) because of health reasons, I wrote these lucky Flashes of mine, which got a resounding success ,on Turin's HOLY SHROUD.

I emailed the message below to the MIT Mars mission club a week and a half ago; I have given their link below and their email address is in the link. I have as yet received no response, perhaps since school is out for the summer. Perhaps the readers of this newsgroup would be in a ...

| Was Proto-earth a Gas Giant ? | 21 Jun 2006 16:10 GMT | 10 |
-> Comparing the cummulative mass of satellites to the mass of their -> central gas giants produces a constant ratio of 0.0001 which is a That works pretty well for Jupiter, Satuen, and Uranus, but it's nowhere near right for Neptune. Triton, alone, has a mass about 0.0014

| Question about early Earth | 21 Jun 2006 03:54 GMT | 11 |
Was the Moon in a close Earth orbit essential in preventing a runaway greenhouse effect like we see on Venus. The Earth was much more volcanically active in it's youth and would have put out much more CO2 and other greenhouse gases. Did the Moon siphon off much of the Earth's

| Shuttle | 21 Jun 2006 03:34 GMT | 6 |
Can the shuttle fly like a plane? I mean take off from a runway, fly around and land again. Could you fly it, for instance, from California to Florida? With the engines it has and onboard fuel capacity I suspect it could but don't know why they piggy back it on a 747 to move it.

| airplanes and space flight | 21 Jun 2006 03:27 GMT | 13 |
One thing that I always wondered about space flight is why most agencies (NASA, etc.) do not use a more efficient way of lifting into space. The vertical rocket takeoff seems to use so much energy and does not take advantage of the physics of regular flight. Why would one not

| Reentry at high temperature | 21 Jun 2006 03:07 GMT | 30 |
Someone please tell me why spacecraft are designed to reenter the earth's atmosphere at high speed. Isn't there some way to come down slowly, so the heat shields wouldn't be needed? Has anyone modeled the idea of unfolding some large wings to add a lot of surface area, or using
