Space rocks group name?31 Oct 2003 00:15 GMT4
[Please reply in newsgroup as my email is going haywire]
I have tried but have not been able to jog my memory into a
recollection...
I am looking for the name of the area or group from which Jupiter, et al

Meteors hitting sun (KST?)30 Oct 2003 16:45 GMT12

I assume meteor strikes are proportional to Area x Mass.
(Area seems obvious, and Mass is proportional to gravity,
so I figure doubling the attractiveness doubles the attraction
Pioneer 10 and 11 trajectory elements ???30 Oct 2003 14:06 GMT2
Anybody known where I can find the Pioneer 10 and 11 trajectory elements ???
I've done some Googling and rummaging around on the JPL and various NASA

What a Drag30 Oct 2003 13:35 GMT1
Some questions concerning atmospheric drag in low orbit:
1) Was the International Space Station/Space Station Freedom meant to
orbit at 300-400km originally (c1990), or was it slated for higher
altitudes?

Visit to Phobos28 Oct 2003 06:02 GMT3
I have been reviewing the comments on the referenced thread, and it
seems to me that most of the writers missed the sense of my original
suggestion.  I did NOT suggest going there as a relay station, or a
place to take a rest before continuing further.  I believe there is
Pioneer 10 and 11 trajectory elements ???27 Oct 2003 17:30 GMT1
...Predictably, immediately after posting, I found the answer to my own
question. (The correct keywords appear to be the exact phrase "pioneer 10"
plus "ephemeris.")
I wound up at <http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/space/helios/heli.html>, and my

Future of HST and ISS?09 Oct 2003 15:52 GMT1
Can the Hubble Space telescope and ISS be put in similar enough orbits that
astronauts aboard ISS could "spacewalk" routinely to HST and do maintenance?
Obviously, the two objects need to have zero relative velocity and about
100 meters apart.  So when something breaks, instead of ...
The End of Space Weather??08 Oct 2003 01:43 GMT1
Anyone else see the article a few days ago on the spaceweather.com site
about the budget cuts? Heres more about it.  Seems like a pretty stupid
thing to do if you ask me.

Cassini's approach to Saturn03 Oct 2003 22:33 GMT1
I couldn't find any information on the Cassini website about the science
observations the spacecraft will make as it approaches Saturn. I found this
page: http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/operations/approach.cfm but it talks about
the flyby of the small moon Phoebe..  I would think that ...
