Latest Mars Odyssey results suggest free water at equator on Mars.24 Jul 2003 21:50 GMT6
The post copied below was posted to the Space.com board
uplink.space.com in regards to a new paper that suggests clays may
explain the high levels of water detected by Mars Odyssey in some near
equatorial regions on Mars:

Cloth is made out of glass fibers.  Some of the reasons that
Apollo era suits are now faling apart is Cloth.  It's primary
useful property is non-flammablity thus it's a good high temperature
The Planet Mars23 Jul 2003 14:40 GMT1
From what I read, Mars was once warmer.  So much that liquid water could
have been on the surface.  My questions are, why did Mars cool down?
Where did all that water go?  Do we know these things or are they still
unanswered questions?
Lunar Soil Temperature23 Jul 2003 11:13 GMT6
The daytime lunar temperature swings between something like 400K and
100K. What is the average temperature several meters into the lunar
soil? Above or below 273K?
Asteroid Composition and Temperatures22 Jul 2003 22:04 GMT1
Several questions about the following asteroid:
*Main belt (2.5AU, pretty circular orbit)
*Stony-iron composition, with some volatiles (3.5g/cc density)

The beginning of the universe.18 Jul 2003 23:33 GMT7
I have read that, according to at least one theory, the physical laws
and constants with which scientists are familiar came into being shortly
after the Big Bang. I have a question about this. If this hypothesis is
correct then the appearance, or concretization, of these ...

Have been interested in astronomy for a while and have been considering
buying my own scope to see if the bug really bites. Obviously dont want to
spend lots of money at this stage so have been looking second hand. For

If life is normal... (Crossposted)14 Jul 2003 03:48 GMT5
It occurred to me the other evening, that the universe is supposed to be
~14 billion years old. Life on Earth is supposed to be ~3.5 billion years
old. Human life is <1 million years.
At one time, people thought that they, and the Earth, were at the center
Deaths In Space; The Difference?11 Jul 2003 06:38 GMT2
I'm trying to write a story and I would like to know if there would be a
difference discernable under Post Mortem between someone who died in a space
station and was exposed to vacum to someone who died due to vacum.
Thanks
Lunar lavatubes11 Jul 2003 04:00 GMT2
What of the lower gravity (mentioned in "Peter's Commentary" here
www.lunar-reclamation.org/lavatube_pix.htm)?  Would the lower gravity cause
the gases that form in the lavatubes in the first place be able to escape
more readily than is the case on Earth (lower gravity and also no ...
