| The American Dumbfuckathon | 26 Sep 2006 20:37 GMT | 6 |
Continues unabated on prime time network and cable news. This is how a corrupt and fraudulent administration bolsters and supports a corrupt and fraudulent agenda. MSM - main stream news - blatant and obvious government propaganda.

So Anousheh Ansari is hailed as becoming first female Muslim in orbit. "http://news.independent.co.uk/world/science_technology/article1619249.ece" Terrific. But why should this be news? We don't routinely hear news of

| Chinese laser ASAT, satellite vulnerability | 24 Sep 2006 15:29 GMT | 2 |
It would be interesting to know just how solid the evidence for laser illumination of US spysats is. Back in, IIRC, the 1980s, there were similar reports of the Soviets doing the same thing; at the end of the day, the incidents turned out not to be due to laser attacks at all.

So, a bunch of not obviously closely connected space and youth related stories passed by my attention recently, and were sort of half acknowledged, but somehow out of this an idea seems to have burbled to the surface of my brain, apparently as an answer

http://edition.cnn.com/2006/TECH/space/09/11/russia.china.moon.ap/index.html Very likely. I assume the China/Russia combination will try a manned lunar flyby before the next US astronaut sets foot on the Moon again. After that, a Martian

| Economics of Spaceflight | 22 Sep 2006 07:03 GMT | 89 |
Satellite launch makes economic sense. The returned value of satellites can exceed the tens of millions it takes to put them in orbit on a strictly commercial basis. Add to these military, scientific and governmental satellites and the result is an active market in launch to

| Outlaw Space Tourist!? | 22 Sep 2006 02:57 GMT | 12 |
This is just an idea. I was thinking it unfair that the rich should buy a TAX PAYER sub'd ticket to space, (Remember it was the U.S. that bailed out the Russian Program, (and paid for the station dev.)). I think maybe a lotto, for rides to the station, (World wide of course).
