A-9 landing procedure30 Mar 2008 01:50 GMT25
What was it?  I'm looking at a drawing of that manned V-2, and I don't
see how they got the guy back.  Did the nose pop off, did he eject, or
did it have wheels .... or what?
How much mass was saved by using a two-stage LM in Apollo?28 Mar 2008 05:52 GMT16
Couldn't be too much - extra engine; propellant and pressurant tanks; extra

The Reports Of My Demise Were Almost *NOT* Exaggerated (Wuz: OM, Hospital, Again, Yadda)27 Mar 2008 17:54 GMT20
...Well, I got released this evening after two more weeks in the
hospital. Apparently a secondary infection from my amputation got into
the bloodstream and played total havok with my digestive system from

Challenger, the first manned spacecraft to be subject to an attack .27 Mar 2008 17:39 GMT8
I just read something that I had forgotton.  In 1984 the Soviets, upset at
our trying to develop a anti-satellite system, tracked Challenger with a low

Military vs Civilian Orbital Laboratories, Vehicles, and Crews26 Mar 2008 17:15 GMT81
1) Some people imply that the space shuttle and its support structure
(like the Manned Orbital Laboratory) was designed from its inception
to accomplish military goals.
2) Since the Challenger disaster with an IUS aboard, the space shuttle
Pitch over maneuver after launch25 Mar 2008 10:53 GMT1
I am after clarification concerning payload delivery to orbit. A rocket,
at a certain point after launch, pitches over to form a closed orbit
around the earth.  My questions are concerning the pitch over timing and
angle.

Sir Arthur C Clarke is reported dead.  It's difficult to say

In the Shadow of the Moon - DVD24 Mar 2008 02:10 GMT5
Sorry if this topic has been covered before.  But I noticed ' In the
Shadow of the Moon ' was out on DVD ... so I purchased a copy.  I
didn't get the chance to see it in theaters.  Even though I have hours
and hours of ' moon stuff ' on DVD and VHS in my video library.
