Gemini control panel question09 Aug 2007 04:42 GMT38
The Gemini mock-up at the Owls Head Transportation Museum (Maine) has
upside-down lettering on the top part of its control panel (see
http://web.295.ca/~gpz550/panel.jpg).
Any idea why this should be so?

Lunar vegetation?!06 Aug 2007 14:07 GMT14
I was re-reading R.A. Smith and Arthur C. Clarke's 1954 book "The
Exploration Of The Moon" last night, and was frankly baffled by one part
of it.
Although the book is pretty accurate about the broad strokes of Lunar
Mars Phoenix launch windows?05 Aug 2007 21:53 GMT2
Phoenix has 2 instantaneous launch windows each day, with two
different azimuths.  This seems odd since they are using a parking
orbit, so I'd think any intermediate time would work as well, with an
intermediate azimuth.  I don't think the two opportunities are
could J-2 operate from sea level?05 Aug 2007 17:10 GMT18
I seem to recall that once upon a time NASA considered using J-2s on the
Shuttle Orbiter. Would this engine have operated effectively from sea level
w/out major modifications?
