Shuttle/ISS crew question29 Aug 2007 04:16 GMT7
One thing that I've noticed on shuttle flights as well as ISS expeditions, is crew members
wearing a watch on each wrist, or two on the same one. I assume they have one on GMT and one on Houston time? Or is it something else? It's not earth-shattering, but just curious.
NASA Astronauts Are Very Afraid.28 Aug 2007 11:29 GMT31

The Void in The Void27 Aug 2007 16:17 GMT16

be fun to make a quantum black hole, like CERN is planning to:

Out of curiousity, I checked through this group to see what was being
said about the latest foam debacle.  Amazingly, the answer is, not
very much.  Is this just supposed to be the new routine?  Foam falling
off the external tank, slamming into the space shuttle hull, NASA
The technological and cultural impact of the "race for space"27 Aug 2007 02:21 GMT1
50 years ago October 4th, the Soviet Union launched a 183-pound,
basketball-sized, polished aluminum ball into an orbit around Earth.
Sputnik not only ushered in the Space Age, it spurred a massive
investment of intellectual and physical capital into science and
Aircraft carriers...IN SPAAAAACE!26 Aug 2007 19:44 GMT104
Speculative and sci-fi authors often assume humanity will eventually
take a long-term interest in space, and develop military spacecraft.
But they don't agree on the form such spacecraft would take.  I've
seen "space battleships", relying on one or more "big guns" installed
Shuttle damage pierces tile.25 Aug 2007 06:59 GMT51
ABC news just had a breaking story that states that the tile damage on
the Shuttle goes clean through the silica layer of the tile  and that
the felt attachment layer is exposed.
