FYI, the Apollo 1 DVD was released last week, about 4.5 hours of material. Definitely up to Spacecraft Films standards and highly recommended. $19.99 on Amazon.com. I was very surprised that the cockpit audio (up to and including the fire)

I'm always reading that Hughes got the contract for developing the japanese GMS metsat because of it's experience with the similar GOES. But the first GOES satellites came from Ford. The first Hughes built GOES has been launched in 1980. But GMS-1 went to orbit in 1977. So is
