I was watching a NASA video about Challenger.  They said it didn't
explode.  It was torn apart by aerodynamic forces.  Apparently, as the
SRB was burning through the ET, the entire thing changed shape enough

It was very sad to see Scott Crossfield pass, (not long ago). The
X-Flyers, and the early Merc/Gemini/Apollo guys, are all getting up in
age. This world needs heros! That is something NASA has lost, in the
drive to make all things P.C. in spaceflight.
