I hear that a sattelite gives a signal that is like only one trillionth
of a volt in strength. Can someone tell me how Mission Control
amplifies the signal?

I need a good video capture of Vir looking up at  Morden's head on a pike. A
little project I'm working on as a gift for Peter David.
Gus Grissom documentary: Murder on Apollo 1?12 Feb 2006 16:45 GMT12
I wonder if they'll show the ground crew take the crew from Apollo 1
out of the capsule and kill them? Notice the article says nothing
about Scott's obsession with murder.

at a
recent "Star Trek" fete honoring Jimmy "Scotty" Doohan...
"This evening is really an honor for me," Armstrong began. "It reminds

New Horizons to Pluto10 Feb 2006 05:06 GMT21
I was a little surprised to hear that we are sending a vehicle to the
planet Pluto in a few days.  I'm also surprised that it's supposed to reach
Pluto in almost ten years - as early as 2015.
Now, I know Pluto is way way way out there from the Earth.  Doesn't it
CEV landing site selection-will the process be similar to Apollo? 09 Feb 2006 21:58 GMT40
Does anyone have a good guess, informed speculation, or a wild-assed guess as to how
the CEV lunar landing site selection would be? Would the old Apollo sites that didn't make
the cut (or got axed when 18, 19, and 20 were cancelled) be on the list, or would new sites
be chosen? I ...
Apollo astronaut who was going to wear large baseball cap over space suit09 Feb 2006 21:16 GMT41
Was the cap actually made? And what material did they make it out of?
I understand they didn't do it because they couldn't possibly sneak it in, a
pitty, this would have made one amazing photo!
Is Virgin Galactic for Real?09 Feb 2006 17:58 GMT67
Should Richard Branson be taken seriously?  It takes giant rocket
boosters to get the space shuttle into space.  So he's going to put his
shuttle ontop of jet and launch it from there?  And New Mexico is going to
build a spaceport?
New Horizons RTG ramble09 Feb 2006 14:21 GMT29
It just occurred to me that I never heard so much as a peep out
of the anti-nuclear loonies about the RTG's carried aboard New
Horizons.  Nothing on TV, nothing on the Net - absolutely nada.  I
wonder what got up their noses so much about Galileo and Ulysses that
