Who has made the quickest complete orbit of the earth07 Dec 2005 00:52 GMT8
Which manned spacecraft has made the quickest complete orbit of the
earth?

New LLTV Needed?06 Dec 2005 18:37 GMT13
I was wondering what the groups thinks of the need to build an
"LLTV 2.0" to train future Moon bound astronauts, or has simulation
advanced to a state where such an effort is superfluous and needlessly
risky?

NASA PDF - Project Able - Lunar Module deploys up to 3000-ft solar reflector in earth orbit05 Dec 2005 15:25 GMT40
Here is a NASA report just added to the NTRS server in PDF format.
It's a 1966 NASA/Grumman study that uses a manned Lunar Module to
deploy a 400-ft to 3000-ft solar reflector in a 6000 nm or 24 hr earth
orbit. The reflector would be used to illuminate selected areas of the
Pogo - in a car!03 Dec 2005 21:43 GMT33
My car has this weird fore-and-aft oscillation when I'm driving it at
ordinary speeds. It's of very small amplitude but I can feel it through the
seat. When the propellant depletes past about 90%, I can't feel it any more.
It's probably caused by a badly-designed fuel tank.

Mike "Mini" Mott obit02 Dec 2005 04:05 GMT3
I am surprised that there has been no mention here of Mike Mott's death
(having succumbed to his battle with cancer two Saturday's ago).  The
man was at the very top of the NASA administration during Goldin's
tenure and he had spearheaded the Shuttle-Mir coordination with the

I've redone the front page of my website. Hopefully it looks a little
bit more professional than  the previous iteration. Still much left to
be done, but there's also some new stuff here, including some of the
Heinlein ships under consideration for models.
Happy Thanksgiving - Was Turkey Part of the First Lunar Meal?01 Dec 2005 14:59 GMT18
Happy Thanksgiving.
A popular story (urban myth?) seems to be that Armsrong and Aldring had
Turkey as part of their first meal on the moon.
