Koelle: Saturn retrospective30 Jun 2005 16:26 GMT63
Ran across this looking for something else entirely:
"Birth, Life and Death of the Saturn Launch Vehicles", H.H. Koelle

Cosmos 1 is space history, literally30 Jun 2005 14:32 GMT26
The Planetary Society gets yet another taste of how challenging
spaceflight can be. Now they have lost two spacecraft in a row. But
history teaches us of teething problems with other organizations in
early spaceflight efforts. JPL's Ranger series comes to mind.

Cocoa Beach27 Jun 2005 21:39 GMT3
I'm finally getting to Cocoa Beach and I'll be there for RTF. Looks
like I'm consigned to viewing the launch from Titusville though as I
couldn't get any passes for KSC. Anyway, I'm asking the group if any
knows any good space book store / hobby shop / junk shop in the area.
National Geographic Doc - 6/2527 Jun 2005 19:34 GMT3
Anyone see the National Geographic documentary on Gemini 8? Lots of
interview footage with Chris Craft, David Scott and some of the
controllers and downlink managers. Pretty hairy time they had. It was
a full hour show and went into fairly fine detail on the mission.
The Day Yoda Stood Still27 Jun 2005 01:49 GMT7
I'm watching The Day the Earth Stood Still (from the era when Movies were
Movies and no attempt was made to make toys).

Two Point Suspension for Gemini Parachute25 Jun 2005 01:47 GMT18
Here is another of those "how come" questions.   What is the reason for
the two point suspension used to attach the main recovery parachute to
the Gemini spacecraft?  I have googled and found descriptions of the
system but no rationale for this apparent added complexity.

Chertok's memoirs23 Jun 2005 16:47 GMT12
In the course of some other discussion, Alexander Mikhailov, an
acquaintance of mine, sent me this (and has given permission to post it
here):
