http://www.astronautix.com/craft/navyslv/htm Says here this craft was to have landed a dog on the Moon by 1963. Well, fan-damn-tastic. So, what was supposed to happen then? Was the dog supposed to have gotten out and "marked" a rock? And how would they have

| Re: Old Planetary Programs | 30 Mar 2005 19:47 GMT | 11 |
I'd like to thank those who helped me with my recent quest for '60s and '70s era information. (paulo, did you get my e-mail reply?) I suspected the NASA archives would be a help, but I wasn't certain how to do a fruitful search; I didn't even think about the various tech manuals. I

Forty years ago today, March 23, 1965, Gus Grissom and John Young were launched into orbit aboard the Molly Brown (Gemini 3). Gus performed the first orbital maneuvers with a manned spacecraft and John offered Gus a corned beef sandwich. I remember reading somewhere that the

| How does biggest Titan compare with Saturn V? | 29 Mar 2005 20:47 GMT | 37 |
What is our heavy lift capability now? Excluding the Shuttle? I think the Saturn V could heave 100 tons into low Earth orbit, 52 tons to the moon. Is it also true that the Apollo CM could have been modified for six people just for transfer to orbit and back?

| Finding A11 transcripts and recording | 29 Mar 2005 11:37 GMT | 2 |
Since I'm sure this has been done by people here many times... Soon after A11 left earth orbit for the moon, the xmitter at the Tidbinbilla wing station failed and burned, taking out the transmitter. This left only the main Honeysuckle Creek transmitter for the scheduled

| KAZAKHSTAN'S SPACESHIP JUNKYARD (EurasiaNet Photo Essay, 2002) | 28 Mar 2005 18:47 GMT | 17 |
I just came across a three-year-old posting about space junk from Baykonur. Sorry for the delay or for my not noticing (or forgetting -- it's happening more often these years!!) that somebody else had already posted it.

| Book Question: To a Rocky Moon | 28 Mar 2005 05:48 GMT | 2 |
This book was talked about in some posts last December, I think. I'd like to know who the author was of this book on Apollo, and some posts mentioned this book in regards to landing sites, their selection, etc. Can anyone provide the name of the author? TIA.

| Peter Jennings on UFOs | 28 Mar 2005 02:51 GMT | 53 |
ABC TV (US) had a special on this evening about UFOs (I think it was titled "Seeing is Believing" or something. The last few minutes of ABC news was devoted to a story/teaser for the special. I've been down with the flu today, so I'm afraid I slept through most of the actual show. ...
