I was part of the Columbia Recovery effort. It was an emotional
rollercoaster filled with highs and lows as our Oregon fire crew
stumbled upon each other and memorable bits of the shuttle....

On November 23, 1965, the Soviets launched Kosmos-96 into orbit carrying
a Venera probe; but the rocket suffered an engine explosion as it
entered orbit, and the Venus injection stage and spacecraft entered
orbit tumbling.

I've been checking some older planetary programs (primarily through

Anybody know how to roughly calculate the half-life of an atmosphere
