UK solid rocket motors06 Jan 2005 21:15 GMT9
I have added two pages to my website - they describe various solid
rocket motors produced in the UK in the 1950s and 60s.
To find them, goto www.spaceuk.org, goto Rocket motors, and at the
bottom of the right hand menu you will find the two pages on solids.
New Year's day at the Cape06 Jan 2005 17:26 GMT19
What I did on my New Year's Day vacation - KSC 2004/2005
When I was age 12 I saw Gemini 12 and its Agena lift off, and toured
Cape Canaveral and KSC the next day.  Then I saw Apollo 8 lift off and
toured the Cape the next day.  Then I saw Apollo 11 lift off - didn't

Haaaappy Birthday to yoouuuuuu!
At last, I knew some engineers out there would call for a heat shield
visit; it _was_ just over the edge from where they were working all that
time, iirc.
Any celebrations to be held in honor of Challenger and Columbia tragedies?06 Jan 2005 08:51 GMT80
At least Sean O'keefe is leaving NASA after lo these many years.  That
would appear to be an acceptance on his part of dereliction of duty.

What "scott grissom" wanted for Chrisnukkah06 Jan 2005 08:39 GMT7
...The question is, at the price they're asking for this thing, would
he still be tempted to recreate Gus' landing in the bathtub?

Dividing line between KSC and Cape Canaveral05 Jan 2005 21:43 GMT7
Where is the dividing line between KSC and Cape Canaveral?  The
literature says that LC 39 is in KSC.  Are the rest on the Cape
proper?

apollo heat shield fragment/slice05 Jan 2005 20:39 GMT3
I have a large (1 x 5 inch) slice of the ablative heat shield from one
of the Apollo missions.  It is charred from reentry and was apparently
cut (very cleanly) from the overall heat shield.
Does anyone have any idea what mission this piece might be from? The

AC & DC power sources in Apollo spacecraft04 Jan 2005 19:42 GMT11
I'm a little confused here.  Did Apollo spacecraft use both AC and DC
power?  If so, why?  What about the LM?
I've also read a few histories of the Apollo 13 accident and was
wondering just how was the LM able to charge the CM's reentry

Space Cruiser Part 1: APR Extra04 Jan 2005 06:55 GMT82
Well, here's the first part (of at least 3) on the SRI Space Cruiser.
This covers the early design development. The article is a little
rushed, for what I presume are obvious reasons...
The initial design looked astonishingly uncomfortable.
