Thirty-seven years ago today (January 22, 1968) LM-1 (Lunar Module 1) was launched unmanned on Saturn IB AS-204 (Apollo 1's unused launch vehicle) from LC-37B at Kennedy Space Center. The mission was called Apollo 5.

I've added info on a strange little Lockheed project from '67 that combiend a flluorine/hydrogen three-stage truck-launched space booster with an inflatable spacecraft. Enjoy. It's in the "Spacecraft" section, unsurprisingly.
