Big G Gemini Question23 Oct 2004 17:34 GMT42
Back in I guess about '67, McD-D built a mockup of the Big G Gemini
that could carry a baseball team into space. The mockup had windows
built into the sides to see inside.
Does that mockup still exist? Is it on display anywhere?

All of the PDF's in http://ntrs.nasa.gov/ are fully available again after a
two week hiatus.  I've just spent a glorious couple of hours downloading
more of that wonderful data again.  Enjoy.
And my heartfelt thanks to the guys at NASA.  It must have been a heck of a

Slightly Off Topic But Relevant21 Oct 2004 18:04 GMT4
I, like many folks who read this newsgroup, downloaded the .pdf files
that Rusty brought to our attention. Thanks Rusty! I attempted to put
the .pdf files I downloaded on a CD-R. I used Roxio's CD Creator, and
successfuilly created a data file with the .pdf files. However, when I
Rogere Chaffee-U2 photos for Kennedy?21 Oct 2004 04:00 GMT5
Was Roger Chaffee the actual U-2 pilot who took the San Cristobal
photos that were shown to Kennedy and displayed in the UN by Adlai
Stevenson?
bigger plans for Saturn V20 Oct 2004 07:44 GMT33
A while back, while discussing LC 39, I remarked that they must have
had much bigger (tentative) plans for the Saturn V.  See:

A Question About A Book & Designations19 Oct 2004 23:14 GMT6
A few months ago, at a library sale, I picked up a book about
the Cape, published in 1968, titled " Liftoff! The Story Of
America's Spaceport ", by L. B. Taylor. Fine condition, too.
Anyway, skimming in the early Apollo section, I found something

Comparing US/USSR space programs17 Oct 2004 22:18 GMT3
Several times I've run across wisecracks that the US space program of
the 1960s (and after?) was socialist-style -- government-run,
