I have begun reading Joao Magueijo's book "Faster than the Speed of
Light".  His thesis is that light in the early universe travelled
faster than c.  But so far in the book he is just describing
Einstein's theories and what it was like to be a graduate student at

Lithium: The hole in the big bang theory09 Jul 2008 21:40 GMT4
This early forging of light nuclei is known as big bang
nucleosynthesis (BBN) and, for the most part, our theoretical
understanding of it is spot on. In fact, the amounts of hydrogen and
helium tally so well with predictions that cosmologists claim this is

What if  (on Hydrogen lift)09 Jul 2008 06:27 GMT14
What if you could make a hydrogen balloon so light it would go into
space ?  There is no free hydrogen or helium in the Earth;s atmosphere.
Reason is Earth's gravity is not strong enough to hold it.  Off they go
to be bleed into space.        Here is my idea  In a plane at 55,000

The name "Einstein" evokes images of a good-humoured genius, who
revolutionised our concepts of space, time, energy, mass and motion.

I'm out on my back porch when using my webtv.  Florida has lots of
crawling bugs. Have some tiny black spiders, and I try to swat them, and
they run like hell. Did they see me reach for my fly swatter?  Do they
feel my looking at them?  They know where to run so I can't hit them.

For the edification of the k00kologists and interested parties, here's
a link to a thread (which links to some additional information) which

What if the Earth had no water?  We just have to walk on the Moon to see
what the Earth would be like.  This begs the question  Where did all
this water come from?  If by water comets ,why just the EaRTH?   That
also begs the question How did these comets get all that ice water?  I
