Flowing Space 201 -- The CBB:  LONG May She Wave30 Sep 2005 22:24 GMT36
What's waving?  That's been one of our questions all along,
hasn't it?  If light is a wave, then what exactly is waving or
"being waved" as light travels through space?  Nothing? or
something?

Eagle Nebular ???30 Sep 2005 21:06 GMT12
Its size I'm told is 50 LY,and its about 7,000 LY from me(fine) I look
at it every morning, and always wanted to ask this question.  How did it
create such a shape? Why do points,or lumps stick out of this cloud?
Some are very fine features. On its Eagle head top it looks hairy, and

No-cloning theorem a Red Herring?30 Sep 2005 03:50 GMT1
The no-cloning theorem is misleading. I mean, yes you cannot clone
arbitrary quantum states perfectly, but you can clone arbitrary quantum
states approximately with good enough overlap fidelity among the clones.
This opens the door to presponse signal nonlocality. Gaussian ...

This is the Real Reason the Sun is going ccrazy.30 Sep 2005 02:04 GMT44
During the last 10 or so years, the sun has been getting increasingly out of
control. Ten years ago, the sun was a placid star, so tame that we could
teach the 11 year regularity of the sunspot cycle to grade school kids - as
if we were describing the regular stomach growlings of ...

I am fortunate enough to be going on a trip to New York in about a
month so I'm now wondering what new bits of kit to buy at those
tempting $ prices.
I'm considering a bino-viewer. There's the standard Denkmeier SCT

bright light in the eastern sky right by a group of six small stars that
look like a chip pan could this be Mars?
