I have 2 sony 8X zoom, model EVI-310 Color CCD cameras. These are the type used in police cruiser cameras. The have very high resolution and are great for surveillance. Photos upon request. One cameras has low powered s-band video transmitter.

I'm looking to buy a DSLR camera and I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Canon 350D. Is this suitable for astrophotography? Are there any others in the price range I should be considering, given that I have no current lenses to worry about?
