Backlash on a Celestron NexStar GPS 1103 May 2005 20:39 GMT3
I have to admit that the procedure for adjusting the backlash setting on

A World Meeting of the Viruses03 May 2005 15:50 GMT2
These viruses are tiny but highly intelligent.        They live on a
large cell they call "Earth"(same as us) That is the end of most related
similarities. They are holding this world meeting because Edward Wittin

Space towers as a heat engine?02 May 2005 19:34 GMT8
During an earlier discussion of the space elevator or tower, someone
mentioned that you could use the temperature difference between the top
and bottom of a space elevator/tower to run a heat engine. However, I

Low light consumer grade digital cameras?02 May 2005 14:51 GMT1
I hope this isn't too off topic, but has anyone come up with a digital

How dark is dark ?02 May 2005 07:04 GMT30
Years ago I had the pleasure of living in Tonga, a small island state
in the Pacific ocean. At that time I had no interest in astronomy, but
I do remember the night sky looked like someone had splashed paint
across it, such was the density of stars. At times I, literally, could
