On speed limits and causal disconnection, with special reference to Aleksandar Vukelja29 Apr 2005 12:45 GMT3
It apparently came as a shock to Einstein in about 1910 to learn that
SR and the speed limit do not apply to causally-disconnected events.
1) The end of a searchlight beam can apparently move laterally at any
speed whatever (though particular photons move radially along it at c).
For Daniel Joseph Min - Google supporters29 Apr 2005 04:16 GMT1
DJM,
In your smear campain against the search engine Google, you claim that the
search engine company is run by "liberal terrorists", and that no patriotic
American should be doing business with them.
suppose the sun and its planets didn't belong to a galaxy29 Apr 2005 02:42 GMT45
not all stars belong to a galaxy, right? some drift alone?
suppose our sun was such and our solar system was not part of a galaxy
but drifting about alone.  would life still be possible on earth?

A Newl Model of Our Universe29 Apr 2005 00:30 GMT12
A new model of the universe called Model Mechanics was formulated. Model
Mechanics provides natural solutions to the following problematic
cosmological observations: the observed accelerated expansion of the far
reached regions of the universe disagrees with the prediction of GRT; ...
Meade 10x50 Binoculars28 Apr 2005 23:45 GMT33
I just bought a pair for £14.99 from Lidl. Just tried them out on the Moon
tonight and Jupiter and was very impressed. For £14.99 you can`t
complain.(or at least I can`t)

Quark-Gluon Plasma Found to be Liquid28 Apr 2005 23:21 GMT1
The quark-gluon plasma such as existed at the beginning of the universe
has been found to be an almost ideal liquid, as opposed to the gas that
many thought it would be, according to researchers Brookhaven National
Laboratory.
What if there is an Aether28 Apr 2005 22:48 GMT30
I was wondering what would be the effect on present day
theories of space and time, the big bang and other cosmic
ideas if the experiment proposed by Maurizio Consoli in the

Constellation Draco28 Apr 2005 22:44 GMT22
I just read that our solar system apparentely is moving within a
hypothetical sphere that has
a point in the constellation Draco as one of its "poles". This is just one
way to describe what I read. Is there any truth to this?

Perihelion of Mercury with classical mechanics ?28 Apr 2005 18:57 GMT43
1. Does anyone know if the classical calculation of the perihelion of
Mercury accounts for the attraction of the sun by Mercury?
I stumbled on an interesting article that discusses flaws in Newton's
theory, and which suggests that the sun's motion is neglected even for
Widmanstaetten structure28 Apr 2005 18:18 GMT2
Good evening, (well, middle of the night actually)
I'd be very grateful if someone could tell me whether Widmanstaetten
structure has ever been seen in any object of earthly origin, or is it
considered a characteristic exclusive to iron meteorites.
The Silence of Saturday28 Apr 2005 16:54 GMT50
After a busy Friday at alt.astonomy, Saturday has brought an uncanny
silence.
Queenbee has buzzed off to greener clover fields.
Twittering One has flittered off into the heart of Morning Wood.
Darla's Home ??28 Apr 2005 15:28 GMT19
Saved by their advanced technology that could build a space craft to
house those who's planet is no more. It is the space ship that is more
important than Darla, and all those inside it. This thinking is relative
to our Earth(space ship) that we humankind ride on. The ship is greater
Jupiter Transit???28 Apr 2005 14:48 GMT4
I think I captured an image of a transit of Jupiter on Sunday night, April
24th at 9:56 PM Eastern Time.Did any of you take photos of Jupiter on that
night? You can view what I *THINK* is a Jupiter transit on my site at:
