Hello. How does one calculate the apparent magnitude of star as viewed through a telescope? For example, if a star has a known naked-eye apparent magnitude of 3, what would that star's apparent magnitude be, as viewed through a 5" scope?

Are these mounts capable of good auto-guiding performance ? or must one go to the Losmandy type mount ? Are any comercial Celestron mounts up to snuff in this catagory ?? Thanks in advance .......

There are strange points of light in the sky and the background colour has changed from grey-orange to dark blue with a hint of orange. The dots are too numerous and slow moving to be aircraft. I intend to resurrect a device which has lain dormant for generations
